NewsGang stole hundreds of Koi carp from Southport aquariumTrader offers £1k cash reward after Koi carp raidA Churchtown shopkeeper has offered a  £1000 reward after  burglars stole hundreds  Koi carp  from his  aquarium. Alan Bibby, who owns  the New Aquastore in Churchill Avenue,  told the  Visiter that an organised  gang must have been  behind the raid. The burglars stole  around 350 fish from the  shop during the raid, worth an estimated  £4000. The gang  used their  own nets to fish the Koi   out of the outdoor ponds  to the rear of the shop.Without access to a  fresh water tank the fish  would die. The raid is thought to  have happened last week,  but Mr Bibby only  recently noticed the fish  were missing. He said: “This was not a  gang of kids jumping over  a back wall. The people  who stole the fish used  their own nets, and must  have known what they  were doing. They  probably had a fresh  water tank in the back of a  van. “I know that another  dealer would have not  been behind this.

The  trade is fairly close knit  and we all play with a  straight bat.” Mr Bibby is now  offering a £1000 reward  for information  leading to  the arrest, prosecution  and conviction of the  person responsible, and  the successfully recover  of the stock  Mr Bibby added: “I  founded the business 35  years ago, so we are fairly  well established. This is a  blow to the business,  particularly at the start of  the season.
