Ok as a night light, and maybe over very shallow tanks with no live plants. However I purchased it for a tall planted aquarium for which it is pretty much no use at all, the light is very blue (I'm talking about the "day mode" here with the white on too) and rather dim too (dimmer than a single, cheap, 24watt T5HO..).Since my original review, the seller has modified the product description to indicate that the 18watt, 2570 leds, 60cm model is not suitable for planted tanks. In the end, I combined mine with a 27 watt HiLumen AquarienEco model Aquarien Eco Hi Lumen Alu Case LED Aquarium Light For 2ft - 2.5ft / 60cm - 80cm Marine and Freshwater Tank Coral Seaseed (2 ft 27w)ALED131(with mixed colour LEDs) and the 2 together (neither had enough power running singly) are doing a great job over my deep planted tank, with plants thriving, my cryptanthus (a terrestrial plant) have gone a lovely deep rose pink and my red mangroves are growing really very well. I've added another star as it works ok with a 2nd more powerful unit.
