We live in Parker so this is much further away than Neptune's. I have to say that the drive is WELL worth it! The selection of African Cichlids is the BEST we've found locally, and the customer service has been nothing but great for us. The lady who runs the store took the time to find out our tank size, filtration setup and existing livestock before making any recommendations. In other words, she wasn't just trying to sell us fish and get us out the door (and she certainly did not ignore us or treat us rudely). We have been back to Golden Fish 3 times since our first visit and she remembers us every time we come in. She even took back a fish that wasn't playing well with others.....no questions asked. I have nothing but good things to say about this store and the couple who own it, and I will continue to give Golden Fish my business. The fish and animals are abundant. I do think the price is expensive for what you experience. Parking is also expensive. Plan to take your own snacks as the food is horrible and overpriced. Although they are a family environment they are less than welcoming to "all" families. We chose not to renew... Having visited many aquariums over the years, I figured why not try this one and give it a shot. I was definitely disappointed. If this is just to give the kids something to do for an hour on a rainy day then I guess it is okay. But if the weather is nice - head to the Denver Zoo. This is just the right size aquarium. Granted there are the large sharks, but they have nearly everything else. It can get crowded, but we've only found that to be true once in awhile. They have some unique exhibits, including tigers and a spot where they demonstrate a flash flood in the desert (you can choose to get damp, or... We recently visited the aquarium in Denver. First we ate at the restaurant there.

The food was really good and the service was too. After lunch we went through the aquarium. They have a good variety of exhibits, all kinds of exotic fish and sea creatures, and the layout is good. Of course they have the ever popular shark tank.... Denver Aquarium is a family favorite. We love to walk around and learn about the animals. Great behind the scene experiences with animals and the Mermaid show is a must see for both kids and adults. We LOVE the last part of the Aquarium where you can fed Stingrays, play games and face painting. Our visit started off a little rough. We actually contemplated just leaving after the first few displays. The displays seemed small and the fish seemed packed in there. The displays were a little too small for the larger fish. Then we saw the turtle, that was depressing. Poor guy looked like it was just there waiting to die in a... For being in the middle of the country, Denver offers up a nice aquarium! We spent about 2 hours here and saw some great sites.

A little spendy but considered it a donation to the research they do in this facility. The kids in our group loved the mermaid show. We visited at 6:00 on a week night, the aquarium was very quiet with only a few visitor but the background noise was very loud. If you plan on bringing a child with any sensitivity to loud noises, bring head phones. The aquarium is filled with many sounds of water, thunderstorms, ship wrecks and more. It was very loud even... This is an entirely different type of aquarium or zoo from the usual state or city owned attraction as it is owned by Landry's. So there's a large restaurant and bar. I was there at a private event, so I don't have any idea about costs. The food & beverage was very good. The aquarium is not huge - it... For being a thousand miles from an ocean - they give land-locked aquariums a poor name. They deliver a hokey and odd experience with a tiger and weird, fake jungle animals. If you are considering it - pass. Way too expensive for a poor experience.
